Job Summary:
The Regional Automation Manager is a key component to the Engineering Automation Team and is responsible for providing plant-based automation support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and direction for plant-based automation personnel.
  • Drive deliverables in a dynamic work environment across multiple locations.
  • Design major components of projects requiring a thorough knowledge of control design and related fields.
  • Prepare technical specifications, project work descriptions, bid documents, and reports.
  • Make solid design decisions within established guidelines, procedures, and practices.
  • Program PLCs and configure HMI's.
  • Drive training and coaching to ensure compliance with Safety standards and incident prevention.
  • Work with the plant, corporate and client personnel to resolve day-to-day production tasks/needs as they arise.
  • Utilize electrical and mechanical experience to assist with plant managed projects.
  • Assist Engineering Team with automation and electrical initiatives on Capex projects.
  • Work with site automation manager to ensure documentation is kept updated.
  • Work with the Director Automation in continuing development of corporate Standards and Specifications.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities
    • Responsible for employee relations including work direction of employees, hiring, training, performance reviews, administering policies and procedures, disciplinary action, and compensation recommendations.
    • Direct implementation of departmental objectives, goals and policies.
    • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Safety Protocol
    • Stop any observed unsafe acts, and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
    • Support safety policies and programs.

Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Automation required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experienced may be considered.

Experience Required:
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a leadership role required.
  • Manufacturing and/or industrial maintenance experience required.
  • Strong project management experience required.

  • None

Skills Required:
  • Knowledge in business acumen, understanding of current and future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the organization, familiarity with the competition, and comprehension of how strategies work in marketplace.
  • Communicate well both verbally and in writing with executives, managers, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the organization.

  • Maintain updated knowledge and understanding of federal and state employment and labor laws, regulations, procedures, and standards.
  • Excellent working knowledge of building operations, mechanical plant strategies, control diagrams, electrical diagrams, tools, electrical practices and safety.
  • Advanced working knowledge with Rockwell Automation's line of Software.
  • Advanced working knowledge with Wonderware's line of Software.
  • Advanced working knowledge Allen-Bradley, Rosemount, Endress-Hauser, Anderson-Negele, IFM, Honeywell, Hach, Banner, Turck, SMC, hardware, sensors and software.
  • Strong working knowledge of Columbia-Okura, Fanuc and ABB robots.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Basic, and AutoCad
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook and field-specific software.
  • Intermediate math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, comparative analysis, measurements, statistical analysis).
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Implement processes to organize and complete tasks, organize people and activities to support the process flow, ability to measure process success, insight to see opportunities for synergy and integration, and the aptitude to simplify complex processes.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
